The overall objective of the project is to develop, validate and demonstrate robust, flexible and rapidresponse self-pressurising PEM electrolyser technology based on advanced cost-effective components and using novel solutions for interfacing to the grid. The aim is to prove the potential to reach the KPIs, CAPEX and efficiency targets as reported in the MAWP 2015 at a realistic production scale and volume.

HPEM2GAS focuses on the further development, optimization and implementation of recent advances in PEM WE cell and stack technology that were largely developed in the previous FCH JU project: ELECTROHYPEM. These advances have the potential to meet the topic’s specifications on efficiency characteristics for partial load and highly dynamic operation and to bring down the PEM stack costs.
